He notes that the jailbreak must be Cydia compatible and it must be open source. The initial bounty was of $20,000 CAD but it has since then ballooned to $216,000CAD — this roughly translates into $US97,000 — after contributions from other members of the jailbreaking community.
There’s only one catch here — the jailbreak must be released within the next 48, though the original poster is ready to extend that time frame to suit a developer’s needs.
This bounty seems to be aimed at supporting the hard work of developers working on an iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2 jailbreak. While most jailbreaking teams can sell the vulnerability on which they base their jailbreak — or the jailbreak itself — to private security firms, they are then unable to release their jailbreak tool to the public. In this case, the scenario is different since the jailbreak needs to be open source.
